At what point?...

Do they start monitoring babies position?

Re: At what point?...

  • Doc has been finding baby's position for all appointments so that he can find the heartbeat. Now that she's bigger he can feel around and find out whether she's head down, whether she's dropped, etc.  Does your OB not feel your belly and get a heartbeat at each appt?

  • She tries too, but she keeps getting my HB instead and last time she checked the baby was transverse. She can't seem to find my LO's HB. But we definitely know LO is in there due to the fetal movement. When do they start getting worried about position?

  • I'm not sure I understand. Your doc is getting your heartbeat instead of your LO's? Um, it's not like they are close to each other or anything.  I mean, I get my blood pressure checked routinely, but my OB uses a doppler to find LO's heartbeat after figuring out baby's position by feeling my belly.

  • I think 36 weeks is when they start worrying about you being breech.

  • I think it was 35 or 36 weeks when she checked and told me LO was heads down.
