I'm toying with the idea of Tanner, but I'm having trouble picturing a successful adult with that name. I think it might be because I've only met a couple toddlers with that name, so I can't picture it for an adult.
Do you think Tanner is an acceptable adult name? If not, any ideas on solutions? (Going by middle name when older, nicknames.. something?)
Re: Tanner ...for a grown up?
I have a cousin named John Tanner. He is 18 now, and most people call him Tanner still. I like that he has the option of being a John if he wants, but for now Tanner suits him well.
I also know a local politician in my small town named Tanner. He is good looking and successful.
So although a grown up isn't my first thought when I hear the name, I think it works and isn't as cutesy little boy as a name like, say, Parker.
Tanner is a last name that I don't think should be brought to a first name position.
I agree.
I think you've answered your own question.
No, I do not think Tanner is an acceptable adult name. It's a nice name for a dog, though.

We know a mortgage broker named Tanner. Very successful and professional. Sorry ladies, I have to disagree with most of you, I think it ages just fine.
