I was just talking to a male co worker whose wife is 20 weeks pregnant and he told me they tried for 2 1/2 years and finally got pregnant using Clomid. She is almost 23 and he's 27. It made me feel so unbelieveable thankful that it was relatively easy for us.
I have so much admiration for the patience couples struggling with infertility have!! Super, extra congrats to all you ladies who finally succeeded ![]()
Re: I'm thankful for..
My mom warned me that infertility "runs in our family" which I understand, but still found to be a weird statement. Like saying that celibacy runs in the family.
It took her (beginning when she was 20) 3 years to conceive me, which I also find strange to think about but maybe I'm just unnaturally squeamish. I had mentally prepared myself for at least a year of trying.
I have discussed this with my husband and told him that the odds, even if we were completely healthy and had no problems was 6-12 months.
When things err... took after the second month of trying, I think he was (while very excited) possibly a little disappointed LOL. We have quite the to-do list ahead of us and I think that the stopwatch started ticking in his head as soon as we found out.
