I put SS because I don't think this is a decision anyone else can make for you. Do what you feel like doing. If you feel like driving, drive. If you need a break and feel like napping, switch with DH part of the way through.
All of our family lives 2 hours away. And I went up to visit them (Just DS and myself) at 30 weeks...after that I decided I refused to drive that far anymore. I was very uncomfortable and because DS was asleep in the back seat I couldn't easily stop to use the restroom (I can't just carry him in now either).
So when Easter came around I told everyone we wouldnt be coming up unless DH was able to come too...So he could drive and I could run to pee when I needed to. I'm getting to the point that I hate when I have to drive at all...I might have to start taking the bus to my doctor appointments (I think I'll suffer through driving to avoid it though).
I put SS because I don't see why it has to be one or the other and why you have to decide now. If you feel like driving at the beginning, drive. Then if you don't want to anymore, switch
Re: Need Advice (about 3 hr road trip)
Ah, I've asked my dr, he's fine with me making the trip either way.
Edit to include: I'd never come to internet strangers before my dr and I wouldn't go against my dr's orders. That is just stupid.

If your doctor said it is fine - then go for it...
