We just started TTC#3. I recently talked to my OB and MFM about what the 'plan' is for the next go-around (1st baby was late preterm, 2nd had PTL starting at 29 weeks and IUGR) and they decided I'd try the 17p injections. So now I've found out that apparently my insurance (Aetna) doesn't cover it and there's no way we can afford that ridiculous amount out-of-pocket. Besides keeping an even closer eye on me, that was really our only plan so now I feel a little lost...and uneasy. Do you pay out-of-pocket for your 17p injections? How much does it cost you? I know it was a long-shot anyway if it works, but I've heard good things about it from people in similar situations, so now I'm a little nervous about heading into this with no precautions at all. TIA

I have Aetna insurance and my 17p was covered. We only had to pay a $50 copay. I started getting them at 16 weeks and will remain getting the 17p until I'm 34 weeks I believe. Good Luck!
i paid $88/4 doses. i took it from 16 weeks until 35. i get it from a compounding pharmacy in town that isn't currently buying into that makena crap (our pharmacist said that he was going to keep making it so that people could afford it). they do have a website though and some other locations, so i'm wondering if you could order it online. here is the link:
My insurance does not cover it and I pay $75 for 5 doses. My OB's office called it in and had it delivered to my house, I believe it was through Woman's Pharmacy of America?
I have Aetna and it is covered. I do not have maternity coverage either.
