Someone please have an answer for me.....

hey ladies

 I went to get  a blood test on Tuesday and my levels were 4,500 and today they were 7,700 i asked the doctor is that meant i was having a m/c and of course she would not give me a strait answer she was happy they went up but  also concerned they didnt double.. has this happened to anyone else?

    Once your levels get to the 5000 range they stop doubling. Once my levels hit the 6000 range they stopped doing beta draws, plus it was my third one.

    Mine didn't double as quickly as others in the beginning.  I haven't been checked since then but I know they start to slow down at some point.  I wouldn't worry too much if she isn't worried.

    the problem is i flat out asked her if it was bad that they did not double  and she would not give me a strait answer she was like "well.....................you need to be prepared either way"

    It sucks, but obsessing over beta numbers (or any numbers for that matter) doesn't help the situation.  You need to stay relaxed and wait to see what happens, which I know is like torture.  The truth is, we're all worried.  The worrying begins with the BFP and doesn't end until you see your baby.  Then you have to prepare for a whole new set of worries!  Blah!  Hang in there, and stay positive.  Good luck!

    My numbers didn't double early in my pregnancy with DD and it all turned out well.  In fact, at 5.5 weeks my numbers were really low, 29 and 56.

    Yes, this happened to me. My first beta was 12,000 (5w1d) and my second was 18,000(5w3d) and they were concerned that the numbers were not doubling. What I have read is that once you get over a certain number they aren't expected to double anymore. Good luck and keep us posted.
