Sitting alongside the first lady, Obama said, "Can I just say I was there, so I knew," adding, "I knew I had been born. I remembered it."

The entire thing is stupid and issuing the certificate isn't going to stop the racist idiots who are "questioning" the issue. I am sure it will just springboard the crazy conspiracy theorists into saying there is some cover-up going on.

As far as the quote, I don't look at quotes like this out of context...and I don't care about the issue enough to even watch the video. It sounds like they both think it is stupid too and are joking though...

People in the public spotlight have to talk so much that sometimes things are going to slip out that just don't make any dern sense.

I was not a huge supporter of our last president but I never liked hearing people go over his verbal flubs because it's like wow, this guy makes how many speeches in a year? I'm sure I say something pretty dumb about every three and a half minutes. Awkward jokes are more frequent than that.

i kinda wish he released it 2 years ago or never did. he shouldnt have had too and i kinda wish he stuck to his guns. i think now is sort of weird he folded to donald trump.

I'm not a fan of the guy but I honestly think the whole birth certificate thing is pointless to argue over anymore. It's too bad this much energy isn't put into fixing the economy and what not instead of debating whether he was or wasn't born in America.

Personally, I could care less. You're never going to make EVERYBODY happy and now that his birth certificate is out, people are going to make up dumb reasons as to why it took so long.

I watched a clip of him on Oprah and he was indeed joking when he said that he remembers being there for his own birth.

I think it's crazy that anyone gave in to Trump.

However, this episode was taped on Wednesday morning, and I am kind of (irrationally) mad at Obama because his presence in Chicago meant DH had to sit in traffic for over 2 hours and missed his fly back to NY!

Yep, he screws up traffic here on a regular basis! I have a view of Lake Shore Drive (a very busy highway that runs along the lake through alongside the city), and they typically shut it down when he is traveling on it. I always feel so bad for all the people stuck in their cars when that happens. I always know it's coming when I see the blackhawk copters over the lake. I'm sorry your H didn't make it home!

Couldn't agree more! It saddens me that some people in our country is this naive/stupid with nothing better to do. Beyond Ridiculous!
