Balloons at party

So, I want to do a bunch of balloons at sons party.  What is best way to do this- rent helium tank or order from party store.  I probably am going to want to do around 50 balloons and have no experience with this.

  • https://www.amazon.com/Factory-Card-Party-Outlet-296933/dp/B000TVFDO8 I just typed in Helium on google & found that. I would go this way just because even at the dollar store they would cost more! They are easy to use just turn on, put the balloon on the end & push to one side...WA LA! filled balloons =) I'm sure you can do this with out problems!!

I have used these mini tanks a couple of times and have had success however there are a couple things to consider.  1. The helium from these tanks does not last as long as from the store.  You will want to inflate your balloons no more than an hour before your event. 2. These tanks takes time.  To fill 50 balloons for an event with one of these tanks took me and three other adults 20 minutes. So if you are working on this alone beware that it is time consuming to fill and tie off each balloon (and again, you don't want to start too soon before the party!).

Having used a disposable tank for set-up before I am opting to buy mine prefilled from the dollar store.  For non-mylar balloons our store is 2/$1 so the time savings alone is worth it to me!

I might google to see if there is a place to rent a tank in your area.  We are renting a tank for $35 that will fill around 140 regular sized balloons.  We have a friend who is having a party the same weekend as we are, so I think we may split the cost, but even if we weren't I think we would go for that instead.  We are planning to use balloons as the main decoration and will send balloons home with the few children that are coming as favors.  For me this is easier than driving home with a ton of filled balloons, and more environmentally friendly than a disposable tank.

We are also renting a tank from a hardware store. It's $15 rental fee then $10 per 100lbs. it will be easier for us then trying to fit a bunch of balloons in our little car.
