I'm in tears and at a loss. If anything could go wrong this week, it has, I'm so over it. Nathan has always been a chomper when it comes to nursing but he only did it every so often. He now has a tooth fully in on the bottom and bites me EVERY single time he nurses. I'm black and blue and bleeding, I'm always in a state of fear when I feed him now. I'm crying because I don't want to wean him at all, we've both worked so hard to get this far. Before I used to be able to press him in to me when he clamped down and that would startle him enough to let go but now he bites suddenly and pulls back essentially scraping me with his bottom tooth. What the hell can I do?

Re: HELP! Nursing and biting.
Pulling Cerys into me didn't help any- she would continue to suckle. I ended up pulling her off and tapping her mouth and saying clearly "NO".
She actually usually cried for a second or two but would relatch and eat.
It took about 3-4 days of this before she stopped.
I hated making her cry but I wanted her to associate biting with "No" and no food.
Good luck! I remember that fear and even worse the anticipation of the feeling you knew would come at some point during the feeding. I hate it!
