With my first, we started solids at 6 months (we did baby led weaning so straight to finger foods). No change in nursing for some months. Any solids the first few months are simply for practice and shouldn't replace BM calories.
we started almost 3 weeks ago - around 5.5 months old.
there's been no change in nursing or amount of expressed bm in bottles. maybe the bottles got spaced out a bit more at daycare, but not by a lot.
i started with once a day cereal, and then added once a day fruit or veggie the second week, and now she eats a third time because when we put her in her highchair to join us all at dinner, she goes crazy until i feed her too! last night, i mashed some avocado for her because we were having it too.
i use my soup spoon to measure one spoonful of cereal and add about 1 oz bm.
she's getting 1/3 - 1/2 of the smaller beginning jars from earth best. so, even 2x a day, it might be one jar or less total.
