I understand that with being pg, people feel they need to give advice and so on; but i don't agree with people telling me I'm going to make my baby "weak" because I plan on using non-chlorine diapers. How are you going to make an assumption on my parenting just because I mentioned I was planning on using non-chlorine diapers?! And then to talk to me like I'm stupid and saying "go read that study I read, go read it, you need to read it. It says that a lot of children develop allergies because they are not exposed to normal everyday things. You need to read it, look it up." All this in a I'm right you're wrong tone of voice. I was pissed! Not to mention this is the same co-worker who told me my daughters name sounded like a strippers name (Gracie)! & everytime she opens her mouth I'm not even talking to her, she jumps into conversations I'm having with other ppl! GRRRR I just want to smack her.
Re: Co-worker vent...
But I'm with you on this one. I seriously hate your coworker. I mean, it is not that she gives you her opinions when she shouldn't, it is that her opinions are stupid. I mean, Gracie being a stripper name? I'm pretty prudish when it comes to names. Trendy names make my eyes roll, misspelled ones make me gag a little. But Gracie being a stripper name? It's just not.
And making a baby weak by using non-chlorine diapers? Wtf is that? (I know, I'm being all grumpy, but seriously?)
Maybe it gets on my nerves so much because she reminds me of DH's friend's wife, who I've been avoiding (successfully!!! yay!!) this entire pregnancy because she use to give me pregnancy advice when DH and I weren't even planning on having kids yet, which included things like "you shouldn't worry about working out because you'll just gain 80 pounds when you get pregnant anyway".
The co-worker I was having the conversation with (A), had mentioned to me that her grandaughter was allergic to certain diapers and conversation went from there.
