Northern California Babies

It's been a crazy week!

I just need to let it out!

I've been in SoCal for a week. It has been a great trip so far. Easter was beautiful. I missed Easter with my family so much.

Unfortunately,  there has been a death on each side of the family in the last week. Which means, I had to spend time with MIL all day yesterday. Things with MIL got so bad in the last few weeks that he had cut her out of our lives. This week her uncle passed and  since I was in town I attended services and have supported his great aunt. Naturally, without question I did it. Our issues are with MIL not the rest of the family. Ladies, I have never felt so akward in my life!! I sat with MIL, prayed, broke bread, etc. My heart broke even more over the situation.  The struggles of MILS family are far worse than anything she has over my husband! All the elders in her family are Holocaust survivors!! Seriously, how can she be so stubborn! Her father saw his family shot by the gestapo! They had no choice in loosing their family. She has a choice! And she is loosing DH and LO!

Many disagree in our choosing to keep LO from her. That we are using LO as a pawn. But, DH and I stand firm in believing that in order for her to have a relationship with LO she has to have with DH. I'm ready for a resolution, or to even move on if necessary. It has been a long few years and a stressful month.

I just needed to vent. I may delete this in the AM.

Re: It's been a crazy week!

  • I am sorry you guys are struggling with family problems. You can only do what you and your DH thinks is best. No one else can make you do anything else. FWIW, I think you are doing the right thing. I don't understand how people can just skip a generation when they are family and decide who they will be nice to and such. I hope that makes sense, and you guys are able to have peace.

  • ((((hugs))))) Your doing the right thing for your family, don't let others tell you aren't. It is your and your husband's life and your child to raise as you see fit.
  • That is so hard. Hang in there. I am glad you tougher it through the service for the family.
