Birthday gift for a friend - advice needed

I'm going out with a friend today for lunch and its her birthday. Flashback, we went out for lunch last month for my bday and she got me a very sweet card and bought lunch. We're close but kind of been drifting apart the past year or so.

My question is, I feel like I should get her a gift. I have a nice card for her as well but I just like getting people gifts. Any ideas of what I could get her as a small gift? I was thinking maybe flowers or something..... Any help would be appreciated. (She's girly if that helps)

    Does she collect anything?  I always like getting Willow Tree Angels, they all have different meanings and significance.

    I agree flowers are a good one or perhaps a small box of nice chocolates? You could also go to a local cupcake bakery and get her a "birthday cupcake". Do you plan on reciprocating and buying lunch? I was assuming yes.

    If you gave more than she gave you (card, lunch), then it would be weird and could possibly make her feel bad. 

    I would stick with the card and lunch, but if you feel as though you have to get her something, stick with something homemade. Maybe a box of muffins you made, or a small cake, or something like that. I know you bake, so this is right up your alley Wink

    My go-to gift is always spa/beauty products. You could get her some shower gel/lotion from Bath & Body Works.

    With summer coming up, I would even throw in some cute nailpolishes & a nail file so she can do pedicures at home.
