So, I was hoping DD wouldn't inherit my asthma and allergies and instead get DH's immune system. Well, she has had a horrible cough for a couple weeks now and day before yesterday coughed until she threw up. We took her to the pedi's and turns out she has asthma. My poor baby girl. We had to give her an inhaler with a face mask last night. She was not a happy camper!
Anyone else experiencing baby/infant asthma? What has your pedi said? Ours said she might outgrow it by 3, but with my history it isn't looking too good.
Re: Baby/Infant Asthma
I'm sorry, this is a fear of mine. I was diagnosed with asthma at 18 months after turning blue. [Side note, we still keep in touch with the medic that saved my life].
K ended up needing an inhaler during her first bout with RSV and bronchiolitis. The one thing I'll say is that after a few treatments, I think she figured it out because she stopped fighting it. She would hold her face up to the mask and it got so much easier.
Good luck, this is scary but very treatable and good you caught it early.
