My mom decided sometime last week that it is a physical impossibility for me to grow any larger, despite being only 26 weeks. She has reiterated several times that I am quite huge. On Easter, she said it in a room full of semi-strangers and one woman felt the need to jump to my defense and politely tell her to back off. (She gained EIGHTY pounds with me and I have only gained eleven pounds thus far.)
Now, my mom goes onto Facebook about twice a year. The occasion of my large-ness was her inspiration for posting:
"Hey Y'all everything is Bigger in Texas and That baby is going to be HUGE!"

Re: Well Isn't THAT Lovely<----Sarcasm
Maybe she is feeling defensive about her weight gain?
Geez! I've had quite a few conversations with my mom friends about how their parents reacted to their appearance when they were pregnant. Many of my friends had similar experiences with their parents making extremely rude comments about their size during pregnancy. And none of these women were overweight before, during or after.
My parents made comments to me about being "big" and "huge" very early on in my pregnancy. I actually brought it up in front of some other family members and embarrassed them both. Super immature on my part, but they never said another word about my size.
Agreed.
Sorry dude, that's totally crappy.
Wow, that is absolutely ridiculous. You should tell her off. I don't think I'd even be polite about it.
My mother has been trying to get me to lose weight for years, but now that I'm pregnant, if I complain about my size, she tells me that it's normal, because I'm pregnant.

ugh my mom has been my worst critic...although when i talk to her about it, she refuses to accept anything she says is being rude. i've asked her to stop using words like, "huge," "big," etc. but she still does. she even talks about the possibility of twins....'you're this big now and still have until late july!"
thanks mom!
Wowwwwww. I am in disbelief. Does she think it's funny?
My mom keeps saying that LO is going to be HUGE. The doctor says he's average and in the 49th percentile. And she keeps asking if they can estimate how much he will be at delivery. I don't get the obsession with size. I think if she made a comment like that, I'd really flip out!

My old boss, who is completely insane in not such a good way and can't open her mouth without something passive-aggressive coming out, told keeps asking when I am going to come by and let her "see how huge
've gotten"
The funny thing is that at 28 weeks, I'm sure I still weight less than she does. When I did come by (to see former coworkers/patients and didn't realize she'd be there) one of the nurses was cooing over my belly. Old boss walked in and went "awww! and it goes all the way around too!!"
Seriously. I was a size 4/6 when I got pregnant and have gained less than 20 pounds so far.
Can I throat punch her for you??
(side note, this is one of a million reasons why I am not "friends" with family or in-laws on Facebook.)
