Visitors, napping, frustration

How do you guys handle visitors and LO's napping this early on? She isn't on a schedule at 7-8 weeks but tends to nap most between noon and 3pm which is prime time for visitors. When she doesn't nap, she is so over tired that she doesn't sleep at night. We haven't transitioned to a crib yet so I can't just excuse her to her nursery. Easter was a nightmare, my in-laws are here this weekend (they are a plane ride away)... I am freaking out just thinking of what the next 3 nights are going to be like.on top of that, if DH suggests we let her CIO one more effing time I'm going to go apesh!t on him. It's not that people are hands on with her either....she just won't get a solid nap in when people are over.

    You just have to be stern with visitors.  There were plenty of times that I would have to send them on their way.  Are your in-laws staying with you?  I would excuse myself with LO and lock ourselves in the nursery or my bedroom to but LO to sleep and close the door once he was asleep.

    this. you really have to be stern. on easter my aunt wanted to wake dd up so she could she her awake. i told her no, then she told me oh yes i am. i said oh no youre not and took dd to the other room to sleep in peace.  i dont know why people think its ok to wake a baby and i wont let them, if they feeling s are hurt so be it.

    I think the thing that irritates me the most is when she is sleeping and people say, "I'm going to wake her up." Um. No you're not. 

    Before my LO slept in her room for naps, I would lock myself in the bedroom. I would say to LO, "Say goodnight everyone!" Just so they knew it was naptime. Most people should have the common sense to leave you both alone.

    We have had family call to say that they are on their way over to visit. If DD is sleeping I tell them they are welcome to visit but that E is sleeping. I am not getting her up from her nap just for them. When she was younger we bent the rules since she slept so much, but now, the only long stretch of sleep during the day longer than 45min stints is her afternoon nap anywhere from 1/2-5/6.
