Horrible Diaper Rash! Help!

I'm in need of some advice from the more experienced group of wise ladies (and guys) out there...

 

DD has a HORRIBLE diaper rash. I'm talking front to back, red, blistered, puckering diaper rash. We've tried Desitin, Baby Powder, baking soda baths, vaseline and cornstarch, as well as a weird flour treatment that I won't even go into! (stupid babysitter strikes again!)

What has helped your LO when it comes to really horrible diaper rash! I"m ready to run out and get anything to make her less miserable!  TIA!

    Neither of mine have had a bad diaper rash but have you tried Boudreaux's Butt Paste? Worth a shot I suppose.

    Are you sure its a diaper rash?  I would call the pedi for something like that.  In the meantime, you might try Triple Paste, but I don't know what's recommended if the skin is broken.

    We haven't had any disaper rash issues in my house, but this sounds like a call to your pedi is in order ASAP.

    My pediatrician recommended Calmoseptine. She said that they use it in the NICU and nursery at the hospital. It is usually kept behind the counter at the pharmacy but you do not need a prescription. I found it on Amazon but it sounds like you need it NOW!

    Good luck, I hope your little is better soon. There is nothing worse than opening that diaper and seeing a red tushle - makes me feel so bad!!

    I would definitely call your pedi about that, sounds like yeast to me, my friend's DD had it sounds just like hers (I'm not Dr. though so def consult your pedi).  She used corn starch and rinsed her butt off instead of wiping.

    DS had a bad one as a newborn. He had a few open areas. Our pedi had us put neosporn on the open areas 3x/day, as much diaper free time as possible and soaking his butt 2-3x/day

    When DD had a horrible rash, it helped to stop using disposable wipes. I used soft washcloths and a homemade solution of water, baking soda, and tea tree oil.

     

    Also, any time she pooped I would rinse her bottom in a baking soda bath.

     

    I know you have tried just about everything and its the worst feeling knowing they are in pain.. so all I have let for you are :::BIG HUGS:::

    Cole was sensitive to the disposible wipes which caused rashes early on but this cleared up when we started using wet wash cloths.  We battled a bad rash about a month ago that was apparently a yeast rash, it was not just confined to the normal diaper rash areas but spread all over his buttocks and upper thighs. It looked like red dots which spread all over in little clusters. We spoke to the pharmacist who recommended applying OTC Canesten cream, followed by OTC hydrocortisone, with zinc oxide (like desitin) on top.  We did this 2-3 times per day and the yeast cleared up.  Diaper free time on an old bath towel is also really helpful to dry out all types of rash, as is changing the diaper every 2 hours.  Good Luck it is so hard to see their little bums so sore, and to think of how awful it must feel.

    A&D Ointment worked for Ivan.Leave the pamper off and let her bottom get some air...And stay away from baby powder. That can cause a yeast infection.
