I think someone just called me fat

A lady I work just stopped me because she thought my legs looked really swollen. She's like, you were tiny before! Have you talked to your doctor?

1) I wasn't tiny before. My calves have always been huge. Thanks for noticing.

2) We're not that close. I'm not sure this is any of your business.

3) Thanks for making me not want to wear dresses for the rest of my pregnancy.

    People suck. I just got a "You're pregnant, right???" I seriously wanted to tell the lady that she should know better than to ask someone that. What if I wasn't and just gained some weight?

    HELL NO!  I am sorry for her rudeness!!!  You should have said something to the effect of "why are you asking me this?"  or "that really offended me"  something that made HER feel uncomfortable.

    Ugh,... why do people always make rude comments to pregnant people!! a lady at work told me today that i am waddling already!!!!!!!! I said umm yah my sciatic nerve is bothering me... i am only 14 weeks pregnant... I didnt even gain weight yet... I AM NOT WADDLING!!!!!  People have no Sensors anymore!!!!! 

    I am sure you looked great in your dress... she's probably just jealous!!!

    Oy, people are dumb! I can see how MAYBE she was thinking that she was trying to help you (swelling can be a sign of pre-e) but still, she was really rude!

    ETA: I hope that statement didnt come off as inflammatory or scary, I'm not trying to imply that you have anything to worry about, I just dont understand how someone can make rude statements and not have better motives.

    Was she an older lady, seems like the older they get the more bold their remarks are.  A month ago my neighbor commented that I was gaining weight, before I told her I was pregnant. Angry

    Sorry that happened to you and to the other ladies here. I too had someone said to me, after she found out I'm pregnant, "oh, I thought you just gained a lot of weight really fast. I saw your wedding pictures from a few months ago, you know." This was the first time I met this woman. She's a friend of MIL. I was so speechless. I forgot how I responded, if anything.

    My weight has been pretty constant the past few weeks but has be redistributing itself.  This morning I got dressed for class and my bump is pressing against my jeans.  I can still button them but they are getting tight.  So, I put on a maternity T-shirt and asked my husband if I looked pregnant (my classmates don't know).  He said he didn't know.  So I asked if I just looked fat and he said no.  So, if I don't look pregnant, but don't look fat, what the hell do I look like!  lol

    And you are not fat, I've seen your pictures. Next time you pass that lady in the hall, tell her she has cankles.
