So I know this summer I am going to be uncomfortable (image wise) no matter what swimsuit I am wearing.....so I am going to rock the bikini this summer. Just because I am pregnant doesn't mean my tan has to suffer right?! For the most part, I will have a tank top and some board shorts on, but when I am swimming, it is going to just be a bikini that I can re-use next summer. The first thing my friends said to me was "whatever you do, don't wear a bikini on the boat...."

I love that people feel the need to tell me what to wear while I am in the water. Like it is not bad enough that I am going to be hot and miserable, now I have to make everyone else happy when it comes to what I am swimming in?!

So, irritable me, I fired back with....."I am wearing one while I am swimming. But if people have a problem with that or if they feel uncomfortable.....that is fine. They can get off my boat....."

She just said "Wow.....that was pretty harsh...." I felt like saying "NO.....WHAT IS PRETTY HARSH IS THAT YOU EVEN BOTHERED TO BRING THAT UP.....CONSIDERING I AM THE ONE FORKING OVER THE GAS TO TOW THE BOAT, AND THE GAS FOR THE BOAT....AND YOU GET TO ENJOY IT ALL SUMMER........ANNNNNNNND YOU FEEL THE NEED TO TELL ME WHAT TO WEAR IN THE BOAT. YOU DON'T LIKE IT?!?! THEN GET OFF MY DAMN BOAT AND GO BUY YOUR OWN!!"

amen!!! There is no reason you should hide any part of your pregnancy..it is a beautiful thing! I wanna wear a bikini too! I think you had every right to tell her off! GOOD JOB!

Thank you! And I live in Washington......we get like 6 weeks of "summer" if we are lucky! My friends can suffer for those 6 weeks......or buy themselves a rubber raft to float in together...... Stick out tongue

Anyway, you better rock a bikini cuz I know I am. Pregnant women are beautiful and I intend to rock my baby bump in Lake Havasu this summer. Sorry, but your friend was definitely out of line, regardless of whether it's your boat or not. I can't imagine why someone would be uncomfortable. I've never been uncomfortable around a pregnant woman in a bikini, that's absolutely ridiculous.

i'm assuming that otherwise, you're in pretty good shape. because i would think only a woman who is in decent shape would feel comfortable, very pregnant, in a bikini. i highly doubt a woman who's 300 lbs is gonna be trapsing around in a tiny bathing suit. so, yeah, i think they need to suck it up. maybe your friend is afraid you'll still look better than she will! Stick out tongue

Is LBC Long Beach? I was in the San Fernando Valley for a while but just moved to Ventura. The weather is so much nicer here.

I love, love, love Havasu. My grandparents live there and growing up we'd always stay a week during the summer and go out on the boat. We also have a timeshare at Havasu Dunes Resort. It's been a couple years since I've gone since my husband can't swim, he's more of a duner than a water baby (like me). But I'll be going with my sister this year. I'm so excited!!!

Add me to the group that plans to sport a bikini this summer. Totally out of line for your friend to make that comment. If they're uncomfortable with it, that's their problem, not yours. Personally, I think that if a woman looked fine in a bikini before getting pregnant, then rock it all you want with the baby bump. I always mentally high-five pregnant women that are wearing them - I think they look cute!

I guess I'm mean then too! I'd have told her she didn't need to come on my boat with that attitude. I hate that. Whenever DH and I go boating with friends we give them gas money and provide part of the snacks or drinks for the day. Your friend has some balls to say that to you.

i say rock it if you got it.....just be sure to wear lots of sunscreen, your skin may be more sensitive now that you are pregnant and more prone to heat rash, hives etc. because your skin is so stretched out.

Yes, Long Beach.

I know exactly where Havasu Dunes Resort is We have relatives out there and have a summer home too. We barely even go out to the lake, we mostly just hang out at the swimming pool.

pay $40 for a new suit or as long as my boobs fit in my current bikinis. wear those? OH Yeah I am rocking the prego belly in my bikini! I wouldn't take that person on the boat! Or if you do, then just wear the bikini and stick your belly in her face!! LOL I guess I am a meanie too!

My grandma told me on Easter, "DO NOT wear a bikini this summer and don't wear any of those stupid shirts that say BABY on the belly." You better believe I'm showing up at my aunt's pool (where we all hang out in the summer) in a bikini with a baby shirt over it. Why in the world does she think she can tell me what to wear? Love ya, Grandma, but I'll decide my wardrobe for myself just like I did pre-pregnancy. I don't tell her to skip the fanny pack!!
