But I have my baby class (general hospital class - a little on labor, a little on the hospital, etc.) tonight, and we are getting our hospital tour then!

At our Baby Basics class we did a session on infant CPR. While it wasn't for certification, my husband and I both loved that we got information, basic training, a very handy reference card to hang on the side of the fridge, and the chance to practice with an infant CPR dummy. I would have loved it if we'd had the chance to take the whole course, but I'm glad we got some training.
We are doing it at a class next week I'm in healthcare and already certified but MH wanted to take the class and when one person registers, the partner is automatically included, so I thought I would hang out too.
I am already both CPR and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Provider) certified so I'm not taking any other classes. SO signed up for a hospital Infant/Child CPR class at our hospital for $60 but we cancelled it and signed him up for an actual Red Cross CPR & AED certification for $45. The hospital course (here & in most hospital classes teaching Infant/Child CPR) aren't certifications but just classes. Certification isn't necessary though - SO was going to need certification within the next year anyhow.
DH and I are already CPR certified, but we took the infant CPR class offered by our hospital as a refresher. It was helpful and we have a handy little refrigerator magnet with the steps to follow.

Good job ladies! I'm a pedi RN so I'm definitely certified in infant/child CPR as well as PALS (advanced pediatric life support) and I am very proud of you all for doing this. Especially pay attention to the choking portion okay. More common than you may realize.
MH are both CPR certified for our jobs. I'm in healthcare and he's in law enforcement. But we did take an Infant CPR class as the adult classes we took never had a infant dummy. Although this class was not for certification, we are both glad that we took it and feel more comfortable if, God forbid, anything should ever happen to our LO.
