Poll: what's you favorite cake/ frosting combo? (non-clicky)

I am making mini cupcakes for my "Royal Wedding Party"- Funfetti with Rainbow chip icing. My brother and I both *love* the combo- he had his gf make it for him for his birthday and we both ask my mom for it. She messed up and got the Funfetti icing a number of times- but she's figured it out! Since we all love to talk about food- what's your favorite?

    I love coconut on coconut...but if I am getting fancy I will make white cupcakes with a raspberry filling covered in lemon icing.  That takes too darn long though!

    I'm not a huge cake person at all but I do have an extreme love for German chocolate cake with the pecan coconut frosting. I also like lemon or orange cake quite a lot (that's what flavor our wedding cake was)!

    I love yellow cake with chocolate frosting. I also really love a good red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting.

    German Chocolate with the coconut pecan frosting, Carrot with cream cheese. But really? It's cake and it can do no wrong in my eyes, no matter the combo.

    Cheesecake. I could take or leave regular cake. Except our local baker that has one they call tuxedo cake that's 3 layers of marbled cake, chocolate mousse, white mousse, chocolate ganache, and chocolate curls. Or Sanders bumpy cake, that's good too.

    My mom makes a fabulous chocolate cake with chocolate frosting

    pumpkin cake with cream cheese frosting

     Homemade:

    Casata Cake

    Choc. Cake with choc. ganache with strawberries

    Angel food cake (made with crushed pineapple) and homemade whip cream frosting!

    Store bought:

    Ice cream cake

    I'm not really a cake fan at all, but there are certain cakes, that if offered, I'd consider. They include:red velvet with cream cheese frosting, carrot cake with cream cheese frosting and pumpkin cake with cream cheese frosting. I'm not a big fan of frosting at all, but I can obviously handle cream cheese frosting.

    I'm also a fan of Funfetti cake with rainbow chip icing! So yummy! I could just eat the icing by itself though, that stuff is so good!

    it is a two-way tie between yellow cake with milk chocolate and chocolate cake with rainbow chip ice frosting. of course, rainbow chip is good with anything-pretzels, cookies, etc.

    Has to be home made or bakery (not a grocery store bakery either, and box mix YUCK!).  Yeah I know I'm a cake snob, but I love to bake so I hate eating cakes that weren't made from scratch.  With exception to Angel Food Cake because it tastes the same from a box and is a waste to make from scratch because you use 12-18 egg whites!

    Anyways:

    Chocolate Cake w/ Peanut Butter Icing (but the chocolate cake has to be 'Black Magic' which is made with a cup of black coffee)

    White cake with Strawberry Buttercream (just found the recipe for this icing and it is AWESOME)

    Angel Food with Peanut Butter Icing

    or

    Cream Cheese Cupcakes (chocolate cake batter, then you drop a teaspoon of cream cheese/powered sugar/chocolate chip mixture in the center and bake)

     Too funny!! My mom has been making funfetti birthday cakes for me, my brother and my sister since we were able to eat real food! and I don't think she'll stop making them until the day she dies! Funfetti is the best :)
