So, last night we got the crib completed.
I have already bought a couple of pieces of art for the nursery - one is a framed print and another is a folk-art alligator.
I don't want to hang either one over the crib for fear of our child pulling it down and getting hurt.
I really didn't want to do a decal, because it feels so popular. I am also not a fan of hanging the child's name up.
Though now I am thinking that I may end up with a decal so that the baby is safe.
It is a decent sized wall and needs something on it.
Any other suggestions or ideas?
Re: Wall Art Help
I'm putting up a pennant similar to this one over the crib:
It could be done in a more gender-neutral fabric...
No good ideas here - I am in the same exact boat, wanting to do something other than a decal or her name.
I still MIGHT put a framed print above the crib b/c we'll be moving to a new state when the baby is still about 4mos old, so I know she won't be pulling anything down yet. But if I don't get something baby-safe now, I'll just be looking for it later, so I might as well start off with something that will last (if I can come up with something).
But my friend told me to keep in mind that as the baby is more mobile, the mattress will be lower and the chances of him/her reaching something up above the crib are pretty slim. Unless you're worried that it will just randomly fall.
I really wouldn't worry about your baby pulling something off the wall from his/her crib....unless he/she is a future basketball player, they won't be able to reach that high once they're standing (your mattress will be lowered then so they can't climb out) and when they're tiny, they can't pull up or stand.
I'm sure you already have, and it's a lot of names, monograms, and decals over the crib, but just incase...
I am totally in the same boat. I have several different pieces of framed art, etc that I will be hanging in the room but have not decided on placement yet. I am really struggling with that to do above the crib. I wanted to do framed art above the crib but I'm not crazy about how it looks so I'm SEARCHING for more options!
