chicken taco seasoning

any one make their own? i don't have a packet and don't feel like going to the market :)

Ingredients: spices (paprika, oregano, cumin, black pepper, red pepper, parsley), lactose (from milk), maltodextrin, salt, onion, modified food starch, dextrose, garlic powder, tomatoe powder, cocoa powder, natural flavor. 

of course I have everything but most of the middle line :p and tomato powder and well i don't have natural flavourings.

I was just going to sprinkle some of each out into the crock pot...

sound like it'll work?

    Should be fine.  I've made my own before and I usually do mostly cumin and chili powder (I like ancho), as well as salt, pepper, oregano, onion powder, garlic powder, and a TINY pinch of cinnamon.

    I usually make a jar of taco seasoning, but haven't since we moved.

    I just did some educated sprinkling :) 

    we'll see how good/bad it turns out!

    We make our own all the time.  The spices you have sound good.  We usually throw in part of a kraft beer for some extra flavor and juices too.  GL!

    I've totally done the sprinkling of various herbs and spices and it turns out great. I like cumin, coriander, chili powder, garlic powder, and oregano.

    I beg to differ. I can usually make my own tasty taco seasoning but there is something special in the Chicken Taco one that I just can't seem to get right. It still tastes good, just not perfect. Maybe it IS the Maltodextrin! Anyway, I have to have the packet or it just doesn't taste right. A friend and I are actually taking OrangeFelt some on our visit to Chapel Hill because she can't find it there and that's just not acceptable!
