Friend having emergency c/s today

I want to take her something besides flowers. I had planned on making her some meals this weekend for her to freeze, and I still plan on doing that but what else would be helpful.

So far I am going to take her:

Snacks

Roll of Quaters (for the vending machine)

Cookies (for the nurses)

Chapstick and Lotion

Anything I am missing or would be helpful? They have 2 little boys too so we have presents for them too.

    A gift card to the grocery store of their choice or Target or something like that. Small enough to tuck into a wallet so it's not something extra to carry home, and useful once they get home for anything they might need.

    I told MH he is under strict orders to bring me sushi and wine in the hospital.  yeah, yeah, I know you're not supposed to drink while BF (or on pain meds)...I'm thinking a 1/4 of a glass of wine is going to make me loopy anyway.

    Maybe gift cards to nearby restaurants? I haaaated hospital food, but was all for DH going and picking up Mighty Fine and Pei Wei from across the street from our hospital :) I also got an Edible Arrangement from a friend and loved having fruit to snack on all day.

    Ummmm, don't let her know you gave the nurses cookies, but none for her.  I'd love to eat something awesome after having to eat bland food for 12-24 hours.  Cookies waiting to be eaten would be an awesome treat!

    I am putting her favorite cookies in there for her too, and her favorite girl scout cookies.

    The best gift I got while I was in the hospital was a fruit basket. It gave me something to munch on that was healthy and it also helped with the dreaded first poo.

    Edible arrangements or fruit period would be nice.  While I didn't complain about the two boxes of Tiff's Treats my co-workers sent me, when I didn't get food from the nurses and DH was MIA, I would have given anything for some fruit.  I ended up eating cookies for most of my dang meals.

    The "Real Lemon" packets from the baking section (near the artificial sweetners)!!! They flavor the water and taste just.like. lemons. I'm  in love with the stuff.
