3rd Trimester

When did you become uncomfortable?

Hi Ladies.. I just got moved over her by the bump... I will be 28 weeks Saturday and have felt great in my 2nd trimester besides a few days. I have had so much energy and loved being pregnant:) It seems this week though pregnancy has become uncomfortable, I can't sleep, I pee every hour, I can't behind over all the way. It makes me nervous because I know I still have 3 monthes! When did everyone else start to feel uncomfortable?

Re: When did you become uncomfortable?

  • This time around it seems the second I hit 28 weeks all the aches and pains and complaints hit. :) It has hit earlier with each kiddo for me. I wasn't this uncomfortable until the very end with my first! It's happens sooner and sooner it seems. {Which is another reason why this LO complete our "collection". ;) }

  • I would say at 33 weeks is when I started having my "bad" or uncomfortable days and nights.  In general I still feel really good, but it was around 33 weeks that I started to have days when I feel tired and/or like crap.  Just depends.

  • I was just thinking that today. I am starting to be uncomfortable in general, which is a disappointment since I have done really well up till now.

  • Once my belly started to get in the way! About 28+ weeks.  You start to have trouble getting off the couch! and peeing all the time.  But wait for the 34+ week, thats when the fun begins! It starts getting really hard to just roll over in the night.  Im 38 weeks now and have a hard time reaching my feet to put lotion on them.  And sleep, just forget about it!  I think the lack of sleep is helping to prepare us for baby ;)  So sorry to go off, I was just feeling how uncomfortable I have been the last couple of weeks, so enjoy the little bump now why you can!
  • I'm starting to and I'm only 27 weeks, today. Lots to look forward to this summer!!! Big Smile

  • Right around 34 weeks is when I started having trouble sleeping, and being uncomfortable. I'm not counting all the peeing!

  • at about 33 weeks i started getting uncomfortable - trouble sleeping, aches and pains, etc. aaand it just gets worse. boo.
  • I feel better now:) I am a full time nanny to three children under 5 and they are a hand full. I just feel this week I am completely different person, I have no energy I have trouble standing up after playing on the floor with all them, or chasing them around the house for 12 hours a day. I even made DH turn on AC last night:)

  • I thought that I was starting to get uncomfortable at around 28 weeks, but now that I'm 37 weeks, I wish I felt as good as I did then!  I REALLY started to feel uncomfortable around 35/36 weeks.  LO really started growing at a quick clip, so my belly has gotten HUGE in the past few weeks, and his head is pushing on nerves in my pelvis causing shooting pains down my legs.  Plus, I can barely sleep, even less than before, because my stomach is so sore and stretched, and all the pressure from LO being so low is getting pretty bad.

  • If your talking about in general just uncomfortable, it hit me probably in the last 2 weeks. I just feel huge, I can't get comfy to sleep and I feel more pressure and pubic bone pain. I just keep telling myself the end is near. I have a scheduled c/s so its nice to know the day/time of when this baby is coming out!

  • The last 2 weeks is really when the discomfort started.  It's been such a downer because I felt so great during 2nd tri!  But now I've got more aches and pains, heartburn is getting much worse, and just in the last 2 days I've started to notice some definite swelling in my legs.  Ugh.  I hate complaining about pregnancy (because the prize at the end will be so good) but it is starting to suck a little.

  • It started at about 28 weeks getting uncomfortable.  I gained a lot of weight these past couple weeks and that is probably part of the problem.  It's still tolerable though.  I'm not looking forward to the last month though.  That was the worst with my first baby.

  • I  have started to get kinda uncomfortable at 32 weeks. Having issues cleaning up the gardens (which are horrendous because of the previous person who lived here).
  • I've gone back and forth between comfort and discomfort for quite a while now, but I started being miserably uncomfortable a few days ago (around 37 weeks).

I?m not TOO terribly uncomfortable now (34 weeks tomorrow)?I hate to complain about it because I?ve had a pretty good and uneventful pregnancy.

This is what I?m dealing with:

I have bad reflux. I feel like I have a pulled muscle in my tummy right beside and above my belly button. My feet are swollen (not bad) and they hurt so bad they feel bruised. I have a headache right now. Nothing looks cute on my any more. I?m burning up most of the time. I?m really pasty white. Sometimes it feels like I have water in my ears. I have a lot of pressure on the lower part of my tummy.

I can honestly say that I?m starting to get pretty anxious about having her, but it?s not SO bad?it could be a lot worse.

  • At the beginning of third tri when I started gaining some weight and my abs starting getting stretched out.  Then I felt better for a while.

Now, this week, I've felt huge and awful.  She's dropped and her head is in my pelvis.  I can't sleep or get comfortable at all.  :-(

  • I still feel pretty good unless I am trying to bend over or if I have to sit for too long.  By the end of my work day, my back hurts.  Otherwise, I am still feeling great.

  • I started getting a little uncomfortable at the beginning of this week and yesterday It was really bad but I feel better today - I think from this point out it's going to be a day to day adjustment. 7 weeks to go for me!!

  • I think I started to feel more uncomfortable around 28wks, but mostly I have good days and bad days.  Some nights I sleep really well, and the next day I have tons of energy and no real aches and pains.  But then other nights I just toss and turn and can't seem to fall back asleep after multiple bathroom breaks and some days my feet swell and I have a lot of pelvic pressure.  I'm hoping the bad days continue to be mixed with good ones so I get at least a small reprieve from feeling miserably uncomfy in the next few wks.

  • With my first, never really. I had him at 37 weeks and I felt pretty great right up to the end. This time, around 28 weeks. I'm not miserable by any means, just generally tired and having a hard time doing normal stuff with my son. I miss playing on the floor with him and being able to carry him around when we're out. I'm hoping I stay feeling pretty good until the end again.

  • I have my days, but for the most part I feel fine. Sure I get back aches, and for awhile there my legs would cramp during the night, and sleeping was a pain, but you just learn how to alleviate it. I make sure and relax to help my back. I stretch before bed and whenever I think about it. And I use more pillows in the bed which has helped with the sleeping. Now, if I only would stop running my tummy into everything because I forget it's much bigger...
  • Around 34 weeks but yesterday was the day that I said to my husband I'm done being pregnant.  Seriously.  I can't sleep properly, my left arm is always going numb for some reason, my sciatic nerve is bugging he hell out of me so I can't feel my buttcheek, I get weird tingling on top of my belly and I'm just all around uncomfortable.  Oh yeah and it's really hard to breath laying down.  I'm so over being pregnant it's not even funny...and I still have 5 weeks to go.  Hold me. • Honestly I am still not uncomfortable.

I am still working full time.  I am still working out 5 days a week. Sleeping is no problem (except one trip in the middle of the night to pee).  I am still doing everything almost completely normal.

I have been extra tired this week, and my feet ached when I got home yesterday though.

  • I've been having the same uncomfortableness that you are experiences this whole trimester, however, I don't think it's gotten worse.  A little more difficult to get up off the couch as the belly gets bigger but overall, I feel pretty good.  But, I've been blessed with a pretty easy pregnancy so far.
  • Around 33 or 34 weeks is when the discomfort really began for me. I had to start rolling in and out of bed. The pressure in my stomach began... and overall, I just don't feel like this is MY body anymore. Sad I just keep thinking that the end result will be amazing, so try to ignore how my body feels now!

  • This week. I'm having a harder time keeping up with my son, I'm peeing constantly and the belly is starting to get in the way of things (like picking something up, etc). I've also got hydronephrosis on my right side which is very painful. I'm become such a grumpy mama and I feel awful about it but I just don't feel like myself anymore. With my first pregnancy it was different b/c I didn't have anybody else to take care of. My H works a LOT and we're far from family, so it's just me and our son all the time. I'm definitely feeling worn out, physically uncomfortable, and getting weepy for the first time this pregnancy.
  • Of course the more women you talk to- you get very different answers. Every woman and every pregnancy is different. I just hit the 28th week mark myself. The first trimester was all about the morning sickness. The over into the second half of the second trimester I started feeling tired much quicker and more often. All of my bloodwork (glucose tolerance test, thyroid, blood count, iron level, etc.) was all normal just recently. My OB told me that the fatigue was normal- that I am making another person. Physically I am just getting where I feel uncomfortable. Have to sleep on my side. Trouble getting up and down sometimes. I can tell I'm starting to have a little more shortness of breath. Stuff like that. I think as long as the OB says the baby is doing well- that is your main concern. Make sure you are getting enough water and avoid constipation- that can make you feel miserable. Good luck to you and God Bless You and Your Baby!!!

  • I just started feeling icky yesterday, 36 weeks 1 day.  Overnight it became almost impossible to get myself off the couch without help.  My belly gets uncomfortable when I sit down on the toilet, I'm just so tired, but I'm up for 3 hours in the middle of the night, I would give anything for 1 full nights sleep.
If the house ain't burned down and the baby's fed it was a successful day. Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker
  • I started getting uncomfortable around 28 weeks, and then it got worse again at 32 weeks.  That being said, I'm ~34 weeks now and I'm still doing pretty well.  Still walking 1.5 miles as part of my daily commute, working full time (and more like 12 hour days this week), etc.  I have a little swelling in my ankles, have trouble sleeping sometimes, have to pee all the time, and have some back pain, but it's all still very tolerable.  I had a terrible 1st tri, so 3rd tri has definitely been better than that so far... maybe it's just perspective/relative discomfort!  But I'm nervous about what the next 6+ weeks hold!

  • Minus being  a bit short of breath I still feel great! I wish my blood pressure agreed with that though. It's high so I'm on "house arrest".  If not I'd be at work, out and about still.  I'm actually more stiff now than I was before the mandatory lounging!
