that DH's family not treat me like I am invisible now? I know my DD is cute and will be the center of attention, but could they at least say hello to me before they ask where DD is, how she's doing etc.? My MIL lives with us and can't even say Good Morning to me before she starts in. And God forbid, I have left the baby asleep in her bassinet. "Where's the baby? Is she sleeping?" No, I just thought I would leave a 6 week old alone to fend for herself! OK, vent over! Anyone else feel invisible now?

Re: Is it too much to ask...
Your DD is too adorable!!!! My MIL lives overseas and doesn't speak English but if she was here I'd probably be ignored too. More power to you for living with your MIL I could never live with family.
I see how it can be frustrating....my MIL is like a ten year old around babies she follows the baby and whoever has it around and talks like it is the only thing that matters. Not a problem when I had only one, now that I am on number two I have to make a fuss over my 5-year old because she is undoing all my hard work in making him feel just as important as the baby. GL!
By the way, I am glad to hear I am not the only one who responds to "where's the baby" or "Who is watching the baby" tounge-in-cheek (our usual response is the dog is good babysitter)
