OMG best friend might be in labor!

My oldest, dearest friend (from when we were 10!) called this morning to ask if your water can just leak, and not break.  OMG!  I'm so excited.

She is scheduled for a cesarean on May 10th due to a very serious health issue on her part and she's been uneasy about it.  She's been very worried that baby needs to be allowed to cook as long as she wants and not get evicted.  Or that baby will suffer from not experiencing labor.  It's really weighed on her and I hope that baby deciding it's time helps her feel better about it.

And completely selfishly, if baby comes now, I can spend more time with her since it will be near a weekend.  ;)

They live in Elk Grove so it's a haul for me to get there and I'm just crossing my fingers I can help her the way she helped me with DS.  She was by my side and helped fend off family and friends and prop up my DH for 4 freaking days while I was in labor.  She's a rock star.

Can my nesties send some magic nestie dust her way? Her first name starts with G and she's expecting a baby girl.

lots of dust headed her way

Thanks T.  I'm sure you would have awesome advice for her.  She is 37.5 weeks or so.  Baby is breech (sideways), mama has a complex medical issue that means she can not push under any circumstances.  She's read all the books (as did I when I was pg with DS), and we all know babies do better the longer they cook and labor helps them breathe on the outside, but I have this strong feeling like baby will be fine. That she's giving her the out she needs to let go of the guilt.  I hope so anyway.

I remember how stressed I was about DS. I knew that given our medical issues, that he very well might need to come early to survive and I still felt a ton of guilt about not giving him a more natural birth.

Do you ever work with mama's who have these types of issues?
