I have a Beco Gemini and love it. I tried the Ergo but I'm plus size and the Gemini was just way more comfortable. It felt much more padded and sturdy to me and I loved that it could do forward facing front carry plus hip and back.
I've had both. I like the beco better. It's much easier to get the kid safely on your back, hands down. It also comes up higher on the child's back and gives them more support whether on your front or back. I sold my ergo and bought a backup beco. lol

I agree with this link, but I have a Beco Gemini (and LOVE it!) and have found uses for it forward-facing.
I never use it for long periods and not when we're out, but when she was small I found it useful to have her facing out when I did some things around the house (folding laundry, doing a few dishes) because it was interesting for her to see what I was doing. It also came in handy for Christmas tree decorating!
The Gemini is more supportive for baby forward-facing than a Bjorn. It's more of a seat and less of a crotch-dangle thing.
Can they all forward face or only some? I LOVE FORWARD FACING!
And do they ever go on sale or am I relegated to dropping a Bennie and a Grant?
I did a lot of comparing between Ergos and Becos before Kira was born and I chose the Beco. But that was in 2007, before the newfangled Becos. You can't do the forward-facing crotch dangle which is good, but the babes can go on your back and look over your shoulder.

The Gemini has a wider seat position for forward facing, unlike the Bjorn. My kids were very close to the "seated" position forward facing in the Gemini that is better for them, so I don't consider it bad for them like the link points out with the Bjorn.
Also, the Ergo does not forward face to my knowledge. I'm pretty short waisted too and as long as the waist belt is pushed down on to my actual hips (so the weight is on my hips instead of my waist/shoulders) then I'm fine.
I paid $109 for mine. I got it at a local store called The Little Seedling but they have a website.
Re: Do you own a Beko carrier?
I bought a Beko Gemini because I liked that it had a forward facing option. I had to return it though.
It is very long, and I am very short torso'd so it didn't fit me right at all.
I got an Ergo instead that fits my body shape much better.
And do they ever go on sale or am I relegated to dropping a Bennie and a Grant?
