I was wondering what your sleeping arrangements for baby are. I was originally planning on using the PNP with the bassinet part but since things have changed (to put it mildly) I think the crib and changing table will be in my room with me to be used at night and the PNP for upstairs during the day.
Is putting the baby to sleep in the crib from the start ok? Anyone else doing this?
Re: Straight to crib?
My DD was in her crib by the time she was a week old, in her own room, and it was fine. I had PPD with her and hearing all the little gremlin noises newborns make in my sleep gave me horrific nightmares. We both slept better when she was in her own crib in her own room. Me becasue I didn't keep thinking I was smothering her in my sleep, her because I wasn't constantly waking her up rushing to the PnP to make sure she was in there and not buried in my covers. In my nightmares I had this huge fear that I kept falling asleep nursing and then she was somehow lost in my bedding.
I'm contemplating putting this one in a crib from day one.

It's absolutely ok. It's your baby. S/he can sleep wherever you want her/him to.
We had DD in our bed for 1 month, a PNP in our room for the next two, and then in her crib at 3 months, as she was STTN.
We'll do the same for this baby.
Yes, it's okay to put them straight into the crib.
We're putting LO into a crib his/her first night home. in their own room.
After 2 years, Injects, PCOS diagnosis and 2 IUI's, we were blessed with our beautiful twin girls!

This.
We plan on doing this too and the crib will be in our room for the first several months. If her room was done, she would be put in the crib in there.
I had PLANNED on putting DD in her crib from day 1- but honestly I breastfed and found it easier to cosleep. We aren't not earthy crunchy people at all- but I was such a zombie that having her nearby enabled me to breastfeed her through the night and not have to get out of bed.
Just saying- you will figure out what works best for you guys when LO gets here. You may decide to put LO in the crib from the get go- but if you change your mind, don't fret.
FWIW she slept in our bed til 5-6 months USUALLY and left because I had to stop BF due to my pregnancy. She had no problems adjusting to her crib, sleeps great and maybe wakes up once in the night.
Barring any unforeseen issues, baby will be in her own room in her own crib from Day 1.
I think everyone just sleeps better that way. I also don't have a distance issue. It's our room, kitchen baby room. So I will here her and get there just fine.
I'm also a realist and have a Moses basket for really bad nights to put in our room.
