So DH and I are set on our names for a boy and a girl.... however, the girls name we have picked out, I absolutely LOVE it and want to use it but I have this nagging feeling in the back of my head that it's not the right name if we have a girl. I told DH about it this morning and he's okay with going into things with a back-up name...
Boys name: Conor Joseph
Girls name: Coraline Grace ---- my other name is Elizabeth Jean (though DH hasn't said yay/nay to Jean as a middle name).
Have any of you gone through this where your names are pretty much set but you just feel that it may not be the right name? (This can be answered by any team color since we all have to pick names!)
Re: Name question...
Yes--I felt this way with the first boy name we chose. We were pretty set on it, but then I started to have nagging doubts. I can't really say what it was, I just didn't feel that it was the right name. We ended up choosing a new name and now I'm so glad we did, I feel much better about it!
It's hard for me to answer this question, to be honest.
The Mr. and I have different tastes in names and have found it incredibly difficult to pick names for this little one. We finally have two first names chosen (Adele for a girl, Jacob for a boy). Those two names are pretty much the only two names we can agree on right now.
I absolutely love both names, but sometimes I feel as if it's all we have to go with since we have such difficulties finding names we both like. So while I don't necessarily feel like we might have chosen the wrong names, I don't feel like we had much from which to chose, if that makes sense.

I can't wait for the "im getting a divorce" post in 5 years or so because your husbands were fed up with your disgusting chair asses from playing on the knot all day and getting fired 4-5 times for not doing any work. you guys are all winners!! ~ Laur929

Yes! I love the name Charlotte Noelle but I worry that it will be cheesy to have 2 girls with city names and since we live in a suburb of Charlotte, it might be weird. But it is the only name we can really agree on.
If you change your mind, you can always re-arrange the letters you're buying and come up with a new name out of them!! LOL
--- in regards to the letters hanging on the wall, when DH and I were first looking for our first house, we went and viewed this one that had a nursery set up. On the wall above the crib were letters spelling "A B B Y" and all 3 of us (DH, realtor, and I) went in there and said "They spelled BABY wrong! What idiots!" It took all 3 of us staring at it going "Oh baby's name is Abby!!!"
I thought of using Coraline Elizabeth, but we have a 9-letter last name, that poor girl needs a break for a middle name!! LOL
Now, I don't even know if I"m having a little girl, so this could all be a thought process about nothing come June/July. However, I think I'm stuck on this because I had a dream during 1st Tri that I did have a little girl and I said "You're name is Coraline!" And she just looked at me and said "No, that's not it..." So I can't tell if I'm hanging onto that in the back of my head or not.
Coraline was one of our top girls names as well!
We went with Catherine Violet because it was my Nana & Great-Gram's names. If we have another and a girl, Coraline will be a contender once again.
I just had to get used to calling her Catherine until I got used to it. It just seemed surreal and still does sometimes that we're having a baby and we get to make the decisions!

Yes, we actually had it narrowed down to 2 names...but were leaning more towards one more than the other. After we saw DD1 we changed our mind and named her the other name. Thankfully we hadn't told anyone yet! I love her name now and it suits her!
We've kept the other name a secret and might use it for baby #2!
