should I be concerned?

I mentioned this in the check-in today, but since Saturday night I've been experiencing some dull cramps on both sides.  It's weird to describe; like I just feel like I want to sit with my hands over my ovaries.  It's not an intense or shooting pain, it's just there.  Sorry for the TMI, but I also feel a lot of pressure during sex.

Is this normal for O pain?  I'm not even sure that's what it could be, since I haven't gotten a + OPK.  I did think about the possibility of cysts (esp. since that is a SE of clomid) but I've heard that is more of a stabbing pain.

WDYT?

Re: should I be concerned?

  • I'm not really sure if you should be concerned or not, but a good friend of mine just finished 3 rounds of Clomid.  I distinctly remember her having those sort of pains during her cycles.  She did tell me that her doctor checked her at the beginning of each cycle for cysts.  Maybe you could call your doctor and see if that kind of pain is normal for the dose of Clomid that you're on?

     Sorry I wasn't much help!

  • I've never had any cysts, that I know of, so I'm not sure about that.  However, my O pain was always more intense when I was on Clomid.  I could definitely feel it!  It always felt like I was full, if that makes sense.  I would think that if the pain is too unbearable, you should call your doc just to be safe.
  • hmm..I have no experience with clomid, but I would call the doctor if you are concerned.

  • This is a dumb question, but I ask it just because I've never felt ovulation before......how long does it take?  I *think* that is what this is, but is it weird that I would feel it for 2-3 days?

  • I've never taken Clomid, so I don't know what ovulation would feel like in that situation.  However, I sometimes have felt ovulation from a few hours to most of a day, but not usually more than 1 day.  For me, it's usually more of an achy, full feeling on one side or the other.

  • last cycle, I had O pains for about 4 days and it was much longer than normal

  • Thanks, ladies, for your input.  I am feeling better about it most likely being ovulation pain.  I might call my dr. later today if it continues, just to be on the safe side, plus since I have tomorrow off it would be easy if she wants to see me.  Thank you for your helpful words!

  • I think it could also be that your ovaries are just a lot more active right now.  On medicated cycles I can "feel" them because usually there are more follicles produced, which actually causes your ovaries to get bigger.  So I bet that if it's not actual O pain, then it sort of "gearing up to O" pain.  :)
