Slightly worried now that the pink is piling up that I will have a boy

Silly right?  DH and I have thought the entire time we are having a girl, they couldn't tell at the anatomy scan and at a repeat u/s at 24 wks they said 80% sure it was a girl.  She couldn't a great shot tho bc the cord was between her legs, but she did point out what appeared to be 3 white lines.  I was very satisfied with that and my midwife agreed it looked like a girl too from the pics I showed her later.  It's just now that I am seeing more and more pink come into our house that I'm getting worried about that 20%, tell me I'm being paranoid pls!

  • I'm in the same boat.  I've been telling myself that if we get a "surprise" on birthday, then I will pack up the girl things and save them for a future baby.  (This is the first of three for us.)

Thankfully we get one more u/s at 32 wks so I'm hoping we can get a 100% confirmation either way.  I hate being such a worry wart tho!

  • Lol.  They told us they were 85% sure.  We're having a repeat tomorrow to get some additional measurements.  LO is not cooperative.

I just figure if she comes out a boy, we'll exchange all the pink stuff.  Smile

  • Not silly. I have that fear. I think it's partly why I can't 100% commit to our name. Our tech didn't give us any "money shot" pics printed out and she dodn't go over that area for our dvd, so I was a bit upset by that. But she seemed confident it was a girl.

If it's a boy, at least the room is teal, but my mom is making the girly curtains and bedskirt and all that for me. And I gave away a ton of DS's clothes to my friend who had a boy. Granted I can get those back if I need them but I hope I won't have to!

  • I also have latent anxiety about this! Now that my mom is working on a quilt and curtains for baby boy's room, I'm worried that at my follow-up ultrasound (at 32 weeks) I will get a surprise.

  • I think a lot of people have that fear. At our anatomy scan the u/s tech was very confident our baby is a girl. Well we have her name picked out and the nursery green and pink. I am definitely going to have them double check when we go for our growth u/s!

Me too!  DH wanted to paint our LO's room a coral color and I INSISTED on green just bc I feel if we do a 'girly' color that it will definitely be a boy.  The bedding we got could go either way, but I still think it's slightly more girl.

  • I am paranoid too. I had convinced myself we were having a boy and people just love telling me "horror" stories of being told they were having a girl and it came out a boy. The tech had a hard time getting baby to cooperate, but she did get a clear shot. It was totally different than my DS, but I'm still paranoid especially since she's already getting tons and tons of clothes. I have an U/S on Saturday, and I'm slightly nervous that they'll find a penis, but it'll give me peace of mind to have confirmation one way or the other too :) It'd sorta be easier since DH and I are fighting to the death over a girl name! :P
  • As I don't have that worry per se because were I guess what you could call partically team green, I know what your saying.  At our A/S the tech guessed and said 60% girl, 40% boy.  At 30W we had a growth U/S and this time she wrote down girl, but didn't show H nor I a shot to prove that it was a girl.  The doctor came in and said that they tech wrote down girl, but not to buy anything pink just yet until after the baby comes because there's a chance she might be wrong.  We've decided that were not telling any one (except you ladies and one of my good friends knows) what they said and were just letting it be a surprise.  The doctor sounded like she didn't beleive the tech, but didn't come out and say that.  So all along I thought it was a boy (my intuition) and now I'm trying to wrap my head around the fact that there's a good chance it's a girl, but then I'm also like they might be wrong!  Since we don't have a concrete answers, it's frustrating!  Thankfully though we have nothing that is 'boy' or 'girl' only, so were set either way.

  • I'm in the same boat but opposite, if that makes sense. Our ultrasound tech said she's 95% sure it's a boy, twice (at the anatomy scan and the growth scan). However, now that more boy stuff is coming in, I'm scared that the 5% chance is gonna win over. Haha. Those new stupid Kohl's commercials don't help Stick out tongue

Yeah that commercial is the worst and my mom keeps teasing me saying that's gonna be me (not funny mom!)

  • I can relate to this, I have the growth scans every month, and every time I ask them "is she still a girl??" lol. I keep thinking I'm going to go to an u/s and hear "surprise we found a penis!"

I started getting things (nursery/clothing wise) right around 20wks, since I'm not having a baby shower. I would be totally screwed if LO decided to be a boy instead HAHAHA.

  • Not silly at all.

I have that fear, and I've had 6 ultrasounds since 16w, all of which confirm "girl".

I just figure that if it is boy, I hope he likes pink.

  • I was super worried with DS#1 just bc they said he was a boy, but I didn't see it.  I was so thankful he came out a boy, we had all boy clothes and his room was blue.  This time, DS#2 has shown us he is a boy at all of our ultrasounds, so I have not been worried.  He is not a shy boy!
