I have only had heartburn once in my life and it was so long ago I forget what it was like. But last night I woke up at 2am with the worst pain and burning in between my boobs. I assume it is heartburn. But with it I also had achey pains in my upper arms and a heaviness on my chest like I couldn't breathe deeply. I sat up in bed and ate some papaya extract which kinda helped, but not until just now am I feeling better.
It wasn't anxiety or panic, I am experienced with both of those. Is this just what BAD heartburn is like? Or does it sound like more than that? I don't want to run to my midwife with every little ailment (especially if it is just heartburn) so wanted to see what you ladies thought. I'm not overly concerned about it, but it was miserable while it was happening.
I took cranberry pills about an hour before bed, that is all that was new to my routine.
Re: Heartburn & Upper Arm Pain
I'm going on day 4 of not sleeping more than a few hours each night. It sucks a big one. Especially this morning when I told DH about it and he said "come on, you aren't one to complain about your aches and pains, it couldn't have been that bad". I wanted to throw a shoe at his face.
sounds like heartburn. sometimes it's so much i want to cry.
as far as the upper arm pain, i've found that because i'm sleeping on my sides all the time now and not used to it, my arms sometimes hurt right when I wake up just from the pressure of me sleeping that way. not sure if that could be what you are experiencing too.
That very well could be it, lol duh Jill! Thanks! The heartburn is crazy. I actually did cry a bit this morning, from the pain combined with no sleep. I feel for you ladies that have it regularly, I had no idea.
I will try that. I feel like I am just a big baby about it because it is a new pain/experience. I am going to take the cranberry pills with my lunch today (in case the digestion of those last night triggered the burn) and if it happens to that extent again I will talk to her about it. Thanks April.
I am going to get these for standby! Thank you!
