knee getting stuck in crib. easy solution?

Tommy has gotten his knee stuck in the slats of his crib 3 times in the past two weeks. It's higher up than a bumper would cover. Any other great ideas as to how I can prevent this? Oh, and no way am I even considering thinking about possibly entertaining the idea of a big boy bed. No way.

To keep DS from getting his arm stuck, we used a breathable bumper and slid it up a little higher than normal. Or maybe you could put two of them to double the height?
