So yesterday I had off to watch DS while our INDC lady had to take off. We went to visit 2 of my friends that just had babies. DS ignored both of them, but it was a huge wake up call for me! They are both about 7 lbs or a little more right now (at 1 and 3 weeks old) and I felt all rusty holding them! Plus DS was running around getting into stuff and I was just thinking "OMG, how am I ever going to do this???" My friend was trying to corale (sp?) him but what will I do when I'm alone?!?! Thankfully he will still go to DC, but the provider has to get hernia surgery sometime probably after LO arrives so there will be a week or 2 when I will have both of them. OMG...
And so my friend's dream labor. Well this is her 3rd (3 under 5 now) and she was induced. Her labor from start to baby was 3 hours!! And she pushed for 2 MINUTES! Holy crap. I asked her "did you sneeze the baby out?" lol! So awesome for her.
But wow seeing those babies, I'm really starting to freak out!
Re: Wake up call and friend's dream delivery!
I have an 8 year old step-daughter. And I have some of the same fears. She doesn't ever look where she's going, she's always moving and making noise, she's used to being the center of everyone's attention... etc...
You're totally not alone!
A gal on FB's labor was like that too, knowing my luck I'll be in labor for 24 hrs tho lol. I'm the same way with the babies too, at least you have one already so you know a little what to expect, we are going to be totally lost with ours!
My aunt fosters and has a 2 month old right now. Even seeing him makes me realize "wow I'm starting alllll over." And I bought a little outfit at Target in nb size yesterday and realized just how small it was.
My water broke at 7:45pm and I had my daughter at 4:30am. I wasn't in labor until sometime around 10 when they started me on Pitocin. I think I pushed about 10 minutes. I am genuinely worried that if I "go early" MH will totally miss #2 being born if he is OOT.

I am right there, my SD will be about a month short of 9 when baby comes and my husband decided since I will be home 6 weeks, which will basically be the remainder of her summer vacation, that she can just be at home with me and baby the whole time. I am freaking out a little. She is a TV/Puter zombie, she can barely take care of herself in ways she should be able to, not sure what I am going to do with a baby and her. Plus she's not real excited about all this, she's old enough to know she won't be the center of attention anymore, and that is a real buzz kill for her.
