W has taken the spotlight, but I work hard to remember my pets are part ofthe family too? What cute things do your kids and pets do, or just your pets if you don't have kiddos?
For us: one of my dogs is a retriever. He brought a toy to W and backed up expecting him to throw it for him. He waited for a long time before giving up hope.
Re: (s/o) What cute/ funny things has your PET done recently?
We rescued a Chihuahua/Whippet mix and he has very long legs. He manages to twist himself up like a pretzel when he's sleeping. It never looks comfortable but it must be for him. Those are his back legs/paws by his eye!
I caught my younger dog chasing his tail yesterday. He doesn't get alone time very often, but my older dog just wants to sleep all day, so I let the younger one outside and left the older one inside.
That is when I heard the commotion on our deck, and it was Duke chasing his tail. At least I know he can entertain himself, since our older dogs days are numbered.
For as neurotic and dangerous to strangers our dog is - she is Grady's best friend. While he's been sick these past 2 days, she would not leave his side. If that means sleeping on the couch 10 hours straight and watching the same damn Elmo video 10x over, she'll do it dammit.
Also, she LOVES Easter because it means she gets to have her own plastic egg hunt (filled with cheese). She scours the yard and delicately cracks them open (no breaking) and finds them all. I really should do it more often then just Easter!
My boy cat is so hungry for affection that he's taken to snuggling with the baby when we're still in bed in the morning.
The girl cat is pretty pissed. She's not feeling the baby thing.
Murphy- licks the baby all the time, on the face. He looooooooves her.
Sophie- nothing different, we are just so happy she is still doing okay even though she has lymphoma.
June- likes to walk and lie down near Charlie and tease her by being just out of reach. She even lets C grab her tail and try to eat it. Such a gentle cat.
The other four, nothing super different but are just great animals. We're pretty lucky.
My cat has always been my baby, but she's been extra clingy lately. She wants to be wherever I am. I swear it has to be related to the pregnancy because both of our cats get TONS of attention regularly. (Something I worry about once baby is here.) DH's cat hasn't shown much in the way of changes, but mine has.
Anyway, my cat seems to really love the nursery. She's always in there when I am, but I've also seen her in there other times, too. She likes to just sit in the back corner, or sniff the new stuff, or even look through the baby toys and books. We are/will be allowing the cats in the nursery, so I don't mind (as long as they stay out of the crib and changing table). I think it's cute! And I'd much rather she be interested than jealous! I'm pretty sure she thinks it's her new room. Here she is checking out the baby toys when I first put them on the shelf.
I haven't managed to capture a picture of her searching for one particular soft baby book, but that cracks me up. I have seen her search for it, find it, and pull it off the shelf. She's also searched, not found it, and made a small mess. I now keep it in a drawer and she hasn't looked in a while.

Clyde is such a funny dog. On Sunday he went hottubbing with me. Wouldn't stay out of it, so I finally just let him jump in. He just chilled on the top step, enjoying the jets.
I often leave a coat or sweater or something on the back of a chair, and when he's running through the house and passes it, he always jumps up and swishes the sleeve with his nose like you would with a basketball hoop.
I thought he'd be sad since his brother went to live with his dad in Texas, but he seems to be quite pleased to get all the attention in the house! This little guy is my baby.
