We're nowhere ready for this baby to arrive. I know it's not going to take long to get the basics up and running for her to come home if need be. But seeing all the pictures of everyones awesome nurseries. And then friends on FB who arn't due until mid August stating they will have their nursery done by the end of the weekend is making me feel a bit like a slacker mom.
We are having a second girl. So the plan is that they will eventually share a room. But i never totally finished decorating DD's room after we moved in last August. So i'm trying to treat the room as decorate it for new baby. The crib is still in pieces. I've got boxes of diapers that i am collecting in a corner. No art on the walls other then over Em's bed. I hate the curtains (came with the house) No fancy lights. Nothing. I want to do more but i cannot do it alone and DH isn't home much these days because of work. It's really starting to bum me out that there is a very real possibility that the room will never been finished before DD #2 arrives. I never finished the nursery at our old house when we had DD #1 because i was waiting until after the shower and then she arrived before the shower and life began.
Sorry for the whine fest. I just feel so much like i'm a bad mom cause my girls have a half assed room.
Re: Feeling like a slacker.... Nursery related.
I'm sure you will have everything the baby needs when you need it - don't worry!! For me at least, the baby's room is more for me than him. He won't care if it's painted or decorated. He just needs a place to sleep, clothes, diapers and my boob. The rest is just icing on the cake
If it makes you feel better, aside from the dresser, literally everything we have gotten so far for our son is in our living room. I have no where else to put it. We just got the floor in his room refinished week before last and we are painting on Saturday. I still need to find curtains, blinds and an area rug. Still need to rebuild the closet. I have a ton of stuff to buy still, laundry to do, diapers to prep, etc. I'm down to my last 5 weeks assuming he doesn't come sooner and I'm trying not to stress too much! Hang in there - you are not a bad mom!
I'm pretty far behind too. We don't have anything set up and only a few hand-me-down clothing items laundered. Our crib and mattress are in their boxes in the garage, the bedding is in a bag in the closet... and we have purchased very little.
I'm sure that everything will work out whether it's all done before or after LO arrives. I'm more concerned about keeping this LO cooking than I am about a lot of the little details.

I still have a lot of organizing to do in the nursery.
DH said not to worry too much about it. LO will be rooming in with us for at least 3-4 months so he said not to sweat about it

So don't worry
