Ok, it's been a while- and the price of the membership has gone up!- do I NEED to purchase the "VIP package" or is the free one easy enough to use? Does it give you the lines/crosshairs or whatever they're called?
I feel like I'm in previously-charted territory (pun pun puuuuun), but I don't remember how to do all this!
ETA: coverline... not crosshairs! haha

I've charted with FF for almost 30 cycles, and had both regular and VIP and I can absolutely say that VIP is NOT something you need to pay for. The free version does everything you need. VIP will just give you things to obsess over (like their "pregnancy points"... my cycles where I was pregnant I had very few points, but I've had tons of points on non pregnancy cycles and this seems to be a common trend).
Give the free version a try. They'll probably give you a few free days of VIP randomly sometime soon (they do it often) so then you can see if you like it. Good luck!
ETA: Also crosshairs was the correct word!
The coverline gives you only one necessary part of the info; you get crosshairs when ovulation is detected.

I haven't used it since TTC1, but I just bought the Ovusoft program that is recommended in TCOYF. I assume that it's still available, and it wasn't that pricey. It gave me a lot of the bells and whistles of the VIP FF w/o continually having to dump $ into it.
The main reason I bought it was that I could use it as long as needed and for multiple PGs. I would have used it when TTC2, but I still wasn't getting regular enough sleep to make it work.
I've always just used the free version. After all, the program can't really discern what's going on--it keeps deciding I've ovulated and then ten or so days later, taking it back.
I think pee sticks are the best.
i used FF before i had ds and didn't feel the need to buy the VIP version. they gave me a month free trial i think? and i liked it, just not enough to pay for it lol.
i did like the TCOYF software best, but again, not enough to pay for it lol. i'm a big cheapo!
