Breech at 35 weeks.....Chiropractor???

I had my 35 week appointment today and the baby is still breech and very high in my ribs. My doctor is sending me to a chiropractor to try the "Webster Technique".  Have any of you tried this or know anyone who has???  If this doesn't work they are sending me to the pool for water exercises.  I have two ultrasounds scheduled next week and if he hasn't turned by Friday the doctor wants to schedule a C section.   I am praying that something works!!

  • My chiro does it. I read a ton of testimonials in the waiting room (he has a whole book of handwritten pregnancy testimonials). A bunch of them raved about him flipping babies this way. There was also a note from the local midwives practice thanking him and mentioned something like him successfully turning 90% (or some high percentage) of moms/babies that they referred for being breech.

A friend of mine did accupuncture and swears that is what turned her baby...she was 35 or 36 weeks.

  • A couple of people in my Bradley class had great success with the technique
  • 90%!!!!   That certainly makes me feel better!  I am doing some online research but it seems to have alot of variation.  Glad to hear it has been so sucessful!

  • I went to a chiro for webster technique with DD2. My midwives also had me lying inverted for 10 minutes 2x a day (I think). Between the two, she flipped around 35 or 36 weeks. I haven't looked at the site since then, but spinningbabies. com (or .org - I forget) also had a lot if info on getting breech babies to flip.

    Good luck!

Yep, he's great. My back pain and SI joint pain is 100% resolved (for now).

  • My husband is a chiropractor and he has been using the Webster technique on me for weeks now to make sure our LO stays in the head down position.  He also swears by it! :)

  • What do they do for the Webster Technique? I am just curious.

  • A friend of mine got her baby to flip by seeing her chiropractor a few weeks ago. I've also talked to my acupuncturist about it in case our LO decides to be breech closer to my due date. Right now I *think* he's head down.

  • Do you know if the acupuncture is covered through most insurance companies?  I am willing to try anything if the Chiropractor doesn't work!!!

That is really so specific to individual plans - it's hard to say.
