I bought a new car tonight and fell in love with it but I'm having total regret now that I am at home and "thinking" about it :( Boo. I mean I am having a baby in a little over a month and I just committed to this?! What was I thinking YIKES!!

Anyways here is my 2011 Hyundai Tuscan Ltd Ed :p

  • I like it! We just bought a Toyota Venza 2 weeks ago, and I had some regret also, only because I hate to add a car payment. But I now love the car, and I think it will be so worth it to have the extra space and features. Just give it time, I bet you'll love it!

  • I have a toddler on top of expecting LO... and we were considering getting a Tuscon! What's wrong with it? It looked roomy enough for me!

  • I wish we could afford a car upgrade or even just a second car in general.  Our car is a little old for the whole LATCH system stuff so I'd like to have a newer one so I know our car seats are fully secure.

Maybe if DH gets this new job we can look into a car in about 6 months.  Better pay and benefits...we soo have our fingers crossed!

  • well as long as you're financially able to afford it, ie without stressing about how you're going to pay for it on top of having a brand new baby then I think it's perfectly fine :)

  • I am not sure what your concern is, but I think the Tucsons are really nice!  We test drove one before buying our last car.  If the dealership hadn't been all weird about low inventory and trying to get us to buy a black one (which we didn't want....) we would have ended up with one too!  Great gas mileage for an SUV.

  • We just bought a Sonata, after debating between it and the Tucson.  I really like the Tucson - it's a great car!  Our reason for choosing the Sonata was that I'm actually too short for the Tucson - sitting in the passenger seat for awhile would be really uncomfortable, as the seat height isn't adjustable and my feet didn't quite rest on the ground.  And we drive long distances a lot.  I really wanted the Tucson originally though!

Hyundais are great - you get so much for your money!

  • We really thought hard about upgrading to an SUV from my little sedan before DS was born. We resisted and when DS was about 5 months old we couldn't take it anymore and got a used SUV. The car payments aren't fun but life is more convenient esp. when LO#2 comes around and the family comes to visit.

I'm a little late to responding, whoops but no it is definitely roomy enough for us (though DH said the trunk space isn't as large as he would have liked) the thing I'm regretting is the price- yikes! $29K for a car was a bit much although I did get the "loaded" one so that it had all the bells & whistles so that I would be happy for the next 6+ years I have it. I think I'm just stressed saying "wtf why did I do this right before having a  baby" haha. I'm sure with some budgeting we will be fine though .. I hope.
