Maggie's had hives on her belly and back on and off for the last 24 hours. They come and go and we have no idea what could be causing them. She is done with her antibiotics for her eat infection (which she barely took because it tasted so bad). We are at a loss. Should we call the pedi tomorrow?

Ready to rumble.

When did she wrap up the antibiotics? And what was she taking? The thing with some antibiotics is, they can remain in your system longer than you actually have to take them and she could therefore still be having a reaction to them.
Justin's first reaction to the antibiotics he is allergic to occurred on his belly and upper half of his legs, and didn't show up till the 7th day of the second time he took them. I'd call the pedi if they continue for sure.

All of this-- I found out I was allergic to amoxicillan when I was 17 and it was after being on it for like 14 days and it was the last day I was on it, probably 6 hours after my last dose and it started gradually with hives on my belly and legs. It took about 12 hours before I realized what was going on and by that point I was having labored breathing, whole body was covered in hives, etc. I would give some benadryl and call the pedi
What's next for your house? Locusts? Sheesh. I hope you guys get a break soon.
I had the same reaction to amox and it was when I was in junior high and had taken it plenty of times before with no reaction, so I imagine it could be a reaction to the antibiotic. I would note it with the pedi the next time you're in either way so they can try to steer clear of azithromycin in the future.

Zithromax is one of those drugs with a longer "half life" -- it stays in your system twice as long as you have to take it.
I truly hope it's not a drug allergy, those are a pain.

I would call the pedi. Give her symptoms, when she started taking the medicine, how long she took it, etc. They should be able to tell if the symptoms are related to the medicine.
What about her Easter candy? Anything new for her there?
