If you had a 3rd degree tear

If you had a 3rd degree tear, how long did it take for it to stop hurting?  Mine hurt for the first couple weeks, then it stopped.  In the last week it has started hurting again, and I was just wondering if this is normal. TIA

Re: If you had a 3rd degree tear

  • Totally normal.  I stopped hurting and bleeding at six weeks PP.  Sometimes when I would walk a lot after that it would hurt just a little.

  • Mine still hurts, but not that bad.  But I am only 3 weeks pp.
  • I stopped hurting at 2 weeks and then was fine for a week then started hurting again. I just went back in to have my stitches looked at b/c of it and turned out two huge knots of thread were the cause of irritation so they removed them. (tmi) but apparently they were starting to get mucousy. It feels soo much better now. I'm glad I had it checked.

  • I didn't feel a thing pp, and that makes me paranoid! (I'm a wuss when I get a splinter, so I wonder how on earth I never had any pain after? I know he put in a LOT of stitches and everything!) And when I had my pp check-up, he didn't even check anything out down there! He just said if I'm feeling fine, everything must be okay! But sex is still pretty uncomfortable for me, so I'm starting to think maybe I healed weird or something, and I kinda want someone to check it out now, just to be sure!
