We're getting a daybed with a pop-up trundle for the playroom. We have family visit too often to lose a guestbed, so this is our best option right now.
If you have a daybed, did you buy daybed specific bedding? if so, please share a link or store or something, b/c the only stuff i can find is uuuugly. this is a bit extreme, but seriously the kind of stuff i've found: https://www.target.com/Zebra-Daybed-Set-Lime-Black/dp/B003XNFQK0/ref=sc_qi_detailbutton
can i get a regular bedspread in a twin/full/queen and use it on the bed or is there something i'm not aware of about day beds needing special bedding?
i want it to look more like a sofa and would love some inspiration pics too if anyone has any to share.
Re: Daybeds with trundle
That neon zebra print hurt my eyes.
I don't have a daybed now but we did in the house I grew up in. We just used regular twin bedding on it. The bedspread came down more in the front and tucked a little on the back. Worked well. We didn't try to use it as a sofa - it really was just for sleeping.
We used to have one my mom gave to us. I used a regular bedspread folded in half. Search pinterest for some ideas. You're on there right?
Ballard Designs has some specifically for daybeds.

We have a daybed in DS's room. I keep a thin matelasse coverlet on it instead of a comforter because it's way easier to tuck into the back of the bed.
I had one growing up and we used a twin sheets for the underbed but the upper mattress had to have daybed sheets because it wasn't quite a double and those sheets would always come up. I do know that my mom would just buy double bedding even though it was a bit big.
BBB has plain daybed sheeting.

we havent decided where to buy the bed yet, as im still researching our options.
thanks so much for the suggestions, ladies. i actually do not belong to pinterest b/c i cannot handle another time suck. it's reallllly hard to not join though, especially now that i'm doing a baby's room and redoing parts of the playroom. i want to join so bad.
mrslaquinta, i lust after the daybed at westelm, but we just cant afford it. i want to take the bed and pillows from their website and just implant the whole thing in our house. rosie, i like the "out there" one with white and colorful swirls the best so far.
thanks for all the help, ladies. im feeling like i can at least make it nice looking now and NOT like the trundle my best friend had in elementary school with white lace bedding.
Just in case you need an affordable suggestion, we got this bed at Ikea, and we love it! It has huge drawers and a trundle.
