wwyd--sick baby?

DD2 has been running a low grade fever (99-100) off and on since Sunday.  She's also been terribly fussy, and not wanting to eat much or nurse for very long.  I thought maybe teething, and have been giving ibuprofen.  But nothing is visible in her mouth. I also thought maybe constipation, she's very irregular (once a week isn't abnormal for her), but she pooped yesterday.

Today she has no fever, but is inconsolable and it seems like she's in pain.  She keeps tensing up her body and then screaming bloody murder.  Should I take her to the doc, even with no fever, or wait it out another day with my unhappy girl?  Sad  WWYD?

It's also big sister's  bday, so we had planned on hitting Home Slice and Hey Cupcake.  Bad idea?

Re: wwyd--sick baby?

  • Has she had an EI before? Every child is different when it comes to symptoms and EI's. I would take her in to have her looked at. Something is bothering her and it may just be allergies or teething but it could be an EI.

  • She hasn't had an EI, though I have taken her in twice to be checked.  At the risk of being "that mom" I'll call the doc.  :-)

Thanks so much for the push in the right direction!

It might be an EI. Those are all of Jacks symptoms. He never pulls on his ears but the crying and lack of eating is our first sign.

  • Who needs doctors, the bumpies were right again.  Ear infection, amox, yadda yadda.  Thanks again for the validation that I should take her in ladies!
