If I hadn't been walking out the door when she said, it wouldve clicked sooner and maybe I couldve responded. She said, "you ought to be losing weight faster since you have a personal chef at home."
#1) he cooks/bakes well; and he cooks/bakes often. You turn down fresh bread or cookies or whatever. #2) begins with an f.
seriously. When are weight comments really a good idea? Or appropriate?
Re: cw mouth-filter vent
FWIW, I have thought to myself in the past that there is no way I would be able to lose weight living with your DH..everything I have tasted that he has cooked as been sooo good and I have no self control!
The Blog
Exactly.
Wow.
I can't even imagine that I'd be able to respond to something like that in the moment but I hope you prepare a classy yet scathing retort for tomorrow.
Yup. What an idiot.
When I say something really stupid I think about it for the rest of my life. Do you think she even knows what she said? What an idiot.
I used to have a cw that would comment on how tired I looked all the time. "You look tired" he would say. What do you say to that? "Thanks! You look tired too!" or "I'm sorry I don't mean to" or "That's funny, I'm not tired at all". I said all of these things but he would continue to say it. I guess some people just have NO CLUE.
