I'm sure this has been discussed before but.....
It's driving me crazy trying to figure it out. I know most people calculate by weeks in the beginning so DD is 4 weeks tomorrow does that mean she is a month old or just 4 weeks old? Or is she a month old on the 30th (day she was born)?
Sometimes there are 4 weeks in a month but sometimes there are 5 weeks. There is an average of 30.4 days a month. How do you calculate your DC's age? Are they a month old at 4 weeks or on the day of their birth?

Re: Do you calculate babies age by weeks or day of month they were born?
I think you are over thinking it.
I did weeks until he turned 12 weeks and then I went to months.
LO was born on Monday June 7th, so on every monday he was one week older. When he turned 12 weeks, i just went to saying he was 3 months. I think it worked out that he was 13 weeks when he actually turned 3 months...but whatever.
When we got to July 7th, I considered him a month, August 7th was 2 months and so forth.
If you think about it, he will be 12 months or one year on June 7th....so just work backwards from there.

Depends on who I'm talking with.
Like lo will be 4 weeks tomorrow but will not be a month old til Friday, ~ 4weeks does not = a month!
I said she was 4 wks when she was 4 wks (Weds, Apr. 13) , and 1 month when she was 1 month (Sat. Apr. 16). But that next Weds. I told people she was 5 wks. I continue to use weeks (instead of saying 1 month now, I say six weeks), because weeks make such a difference at this age. But maybe in a few more weeks I will start saying 3 months, just over 3 months, 3 and a half months, etc.
