TTC After a Loss 6 Months+

He is a Gentle Giant and a coward! (pic)

I am talking about out 90lb loveable Bouvier des Flanders, Dante.  Because the basement flooded due to the toilet, we have been running the dehumidifier to pick up the water in the carpet.  Dan'te's food is down in the basement and because the dehumidifier is running he is too scared to go into the basement and eat his food.  He is also terrified of the laundry room b/c he thinks the washer and dryer might "get" him.  Now he spends his days glowering down the stairs at the dehumidifier.  DH walked him down to eat yesterday and he ate about a handful of food before bolting up the stairs.  <sigh>  Love that dog! And just so that you can see what I am talking about... here he is on his birthday "nesting" on his toys.

  • BWAHAHAH!!

We got new, fancy (well, fancy for us) washer/dryers that were NOT OK with Zoey. They played little tunes and different spots in the cycle and since they're front load she could see the tumbling and it was just all NOT OK man!!

  • LOL Jordan is the same way! When we had new kitchen floors put in, she wouldn't go in the kitchen for 2 weeks and her food is in there! She is now used to it but still gets a mouth full of food and brings it into the living room EVERY time she eats. Good luck!
  • Awww, poor guy! He is such a cutie :-)

  • He's so cute!  How much brushing does he require?  Pepper can't eat if we aren't both home, and would prefer that we both stand with her so she can eat :sigh:  I had a rottie mix quite a few years ago.  We walked in the park behind our house every night would would met up with a little poodle most of the time.  My giant rottie who was 100+ lbs would hide behind me every time he would see the poor little poodle and it's elderly owner.

Lots of brushing, but we usually wimp out and take him to a local place that does a good job.  He looks like a rag-a-muffin right now, so I need to take him in soon.  For the summer we usually shave him down so he can survive the heat.

Last night we both walked D down to eat his food and would not let him leave until he ate.  It worked.  The weirdo.
