Anyone play tennis as a kid? DD wants to join a summer league, but I know nothing about the sport. Can a 6 year-old really play? It seems kind of complicated to me.
Ava was invited to a birthday party at a country club (one of the kids in her preschool class) and the invitation said the children would be playing tennis. I was interested to see how this was going to go, but Charlotte ended up sick that weekend so DH took her and he said it was just a bunch of kids running around chasing balls and that it was hilarious. He did say she seemed to enjoy it though. Anyway, apparently that club offers tennis lessons starting at 3.
I'd let her do it. I wouldn't expect her to master it, but just practicing will help her coordination and teach her the object of the game, and at the very least help her decide if it's something she's interested in. If not, at least she's staying active and socializing with other kids.
Ava Caroline 8.27.07 I Charlotte Grace 5.18.09 I Lila Katherine 1.20.11
