Teething help! (some TMI)

So this morning, Jack woke up with a huge poop and he had to be showered clean, then as soon as I put a diaper back on him, he pooped again.  Both were diarrhea, which is really unusual for him for the past few months.  He had 2 bouts of diarrhea at day care, and once since we've been home.  He also had a temp of 101.3 at DC.  But he's acting totally normal. Playing and giggling, he's just a little more clingy than normal is all.

The DCP and I both think it's just teething, since he's otherwise acting normal.  I'm headed out the door for some Pedialyte, but is there anything else I can do for him??  He's cutting the two top front teeth, and his gums are really swollen.  Is there anything I can do for that?  I thought someone the other day mentioned Benadryl?

And yes, if he's still got the diarrhea tomorrow, I'll take him in, but it's already 7pm and I'm not taking him to the ER unless I absolutely have to.

Batman likes to watch cartoons on the weekends. Whatever.

Re: Teething help! (some TMI)

  • I've heard that teething can be associated with diarrhea and a fever, though 101.3 seems a little high.  If Tylenol doesn't get it down though I'd head in.

  • I always preferred Advil to tylenol for teething.
