Is this a "real" name? I read somewhere that is was Australian but I don't know if it was ligit. Do you like it , and do you think boy or girl? I heard it on a little boy, and I think I kinda like it...
In my hometown newspaper there was a birth announcement for a Baze. BARF! I thought it was supposed to be Blaze and they had made a typo, but it was repeated several times in the article.
There's an Australian director named Baz Luhrmann. According to wikipedia it is a nn b/c his friends thought he looked like a British cartoon character named Basil. So my guess is that is a nn for the name Basil, but that name is pronounced Bah-zil and I think the nn is pronounced Bahz.

Wasn't that the name of the dad on that show where the parent's daughter they gave away for adoption as teenagers came back to live with them when she was 17? It was called "Life or Something Like it" I think
That being said I don't like the name.
